Second graders learned about the artist, Keith Haring, and discussed how he used movements in his artwork.
As a group we demonstrated different types of movement and poses that would imply movement (like yoga/ballet poses).
They practiced drawing different poses that would show movement or activities with simple stick figures. After practicing they got to work making figures out of tin foil and putting them in a position that showed movement. They traced their figure on black paper and cut it out for the shadow.
